How do I contact Daisy?
If you want to speak to me directly, please use WhatsApp HERE, or the Contact Me page HERE.
How do I book a workshop?
You can purchase a voucher online, which will be valid for 12 months. Please then contact me using the information above to book your session. You can also pay on the day instead of purchasing a voucher.
When are workshops available?
As a full-time artist, I have good availability throughout the week and on most weekends. My usual workshop session times are:
Monday to Friday: 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-16:00
Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings: 18:00-20:00
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00-12:00 & 14:00-16:00 (subject to availability).
If your date is crucial, please contact me to check availability before booking. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Where do the workshops take place?
Workshops take place at my home in Osbaldwick, York. The full address will be provided after booking.
Smaller workshops of up to 5 people usually take place in my home studio, while larger groups of up to 8 may take place in my kitchen-diner. For private group bookings, I may also be able to come to your home or another suitable venue, please get in touch to discuss.
Getting here & Parking
Osbaldwick is close to York city centre, around a 10 minute taxi ride (depending on traffic). There are also local bus routes serving the Osbaldwick area, so please check current timetables before travelling.
There is space for two cars on the drive, which I will make available for workshop guests where possible. Additional parking is usually available on the street nearby, but please car share where you can to help minimise disruption to my lovely neighbours.
What are the age requirements for workshops?
Age requirements vary depending on the workshop type:
Jesmonite workshops - Minimum age 13. Anyone aged 13-15 must attend with an accompanying, participating adult.
Polymer clay earring workshops - Minimum age 13. Anyone aged 13-15 must attend with an accompanying, participating adult.
Linocut workshops - Minimum age 16 due to the use of sharp tools.
For younger guests, I may be able to offer more suitable craft activities or private family workshops, so please get in touch if you’d like to discuss options.
Do I need any experience to join a workshop?
Not at all. My workshops are designed to be approachable for beginners, while still giving plenty of room for creativity. Because I’ve already made the mistakes myself, I can help you avoid common problems, guide you through the tricky bits, and make sure you leave with something you are genuinely happy with.
What is included in the workshops?
All materials and equipment needed for your workshop are included, along with step-by-step guidance throughout the session. Those doing workshops in my home will receive a choice of complementary drink (a glass of prosecco, bottle of beer, soft or hot drink).
You’ll also take home your finished handmade pieces at the end of the workshop, unless stated otherwise in the individual workshop description.
What should I wear?
All of my workshops are hands-on and creative, so things may get a little messy.
For Jesmonite workshops, Jesmonite itself is water-based, but pigments can stain clothing, so please dress accordingly.
For linocut workshops, we’ll be using printing inks, which can mark clothing. Please wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little messy, and avoid anything too precious.
For polymer clay earring workshops, the clay can contain oils and pigments that may mark lighter fabrics, so I’d recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little crafty in.
What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
As a small business, workshop bookings are an important part of keeping Daisy Lydia Designs running. Places are limited, materials are prepared in advance, and it is not always possible to refill a space at short notice. For this reason, the following cancellation policy applies:
If you cancel more than 28 days before your workshop, you will receive a full refund, and I will do my best to move you to an alternative session if you would prefer.
If you cancel between 28 and 7 days before your workshop, you will receive a 50% refund, and I will do my best to move you to an alternative session where possible.
If you cancel with less than 7 days’ notice, I’m unable to offer a refund or transfer. This is because materials and preparation are arranged in advance, and it is very difficult to refill places at short notice.
If I ever need to cancel or reschedule a workshop, you’ll be offered a full refund or the option to move to another available date.
Why choose Daisy Lydia for creative workshops and handmade products?
Daisy Lydia is built on a genuine love of making. As a lifelong crafter with a passion for gifting, homeware and design, I’ve spent years learning through trial and error, finding the little tricks that make all the difference, and working out how to fix things when they do not go to plan. That means when you create with me, you are not just following instructions, you are learning from real hands-on experience. For example, I can share small finishing tips, such as how to clean and refine polymer clay pieces for a more professional-looking result.
What makes Daisy Lydia workshops different?
My workshops are designed to be more than just a lovely experience. I know that some craft workshops can be a great chance to switch off, connect with your friends and try something different, but people do not always leave with something they truly like, use or would be happy to give as a thoughtful, handmade gift. My aim is different: I want to help you create pieces that feel personal, practical and genuinely worth taking home.
Why book a workshop instead of buying an at-home craft kit?
At-home kits can be fun, but they are often used once and then forgotten about. When you book a workshop with Daisy Lydia, you benefit from expert guidance, a supportive setting, and a purpose-built creative studio in my home that is dedicated to artistry and design. You get the quality materials, the know-how, and the help to troubleshoot along the way, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable and far less wasteful.
